INTRODUCTION
CYA is a retail department store which stocks a wide range of products, including but not limited to: Homeware; Home Decor; Party Accessories; Office & Stationery; Toys; Sports and Pet Accessories; and Health & Beauty.
A new opportunity exists for a Security Officer for our store situated in Crown Mines (Johannesburg).
The successful person will report into the Store Manager/Security Supervisor and will primarily be responsible for the safety and security of staff and customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet incoming customers and staff
Checking of customers parcels at exit points
Searching of staff when entering and exiting the premises
Guard and monitor premises to prevent theft, property destruction, violence or rules and safety violations
Inspect the store and check for irregularities
Be a visible deterrent to crime
Identifying suspicious behaviour
Monitoring access to properties
Taking action in emergency situations
Clear criminal record
Matric
2-3 years experience as a security guard/officer
Experience in a Retail environment advantageous
Good communication skills
Must be in good physical condition
Be able to work retail hours and weekends (hours are from 8h30-16h00), working 6 days a week with 1 off day per week
