JOB SUMMARY
A multidisciplinary engineering firm has a short-term position (+/- 10 months) available for a Junior Safety Officer
REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12
Certification in SAMTRAC / NEBOSH / SHEMTRAC
HIRA certificates, legal responsibility and incident investigation required
Detailed knowledge of the OHS law
Fully computerized (MS Office and general computer use)
1-3 years of experience as a construction safety officer
Registered as CHSO with the SACPCMP
Willing to relocate to a remote area
Valid driver’s license with 5 years of driving experience.
Vehicle and accommodation will be provided.
Basic training will be provided
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Report to the Senior Security Officer
Audit of contractors and subcontractors
Daily, weekly and monthly inspections
Ensuring that the contractor complies with OHS processes and procedures.
Conduct risk assessments
Enforce Covid-19 requirements on site
Investigation of the incident
Attend daily weekly and monthly site meetings
Make sure contractors comply with COIDA
