JUNIOR SCIENTIST – ENGINEERING GEOLOGY
Job Title : Junior Scientist – Engineering Geology

Peromnes Grade : P09 (R 594 830,42 CTC Per Annum)

Location : Head Office: Pretoria

Reporting Line : Manager: Infrastructure and Land Use

Overall Job Purpose : The incumbent will undertake limited research in a wide variety of geoscientific fields including project implementation under guidance of more senior scientific staff within the Engineering and Geohazards Business Unit

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Research and Development

Quality Assurance

Work within the requirements of the prescribed standards (i.e. ISO)
Learning and Development

Undertake specific and requisite self-improvement learning/conferences and development through workshops/training courses.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Grade 12;
BSc Honours Degree in Engineering Geology.
Registration with SACNASP (candidate or professional) advantageous.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Basic proficiency in compiling of geo-scientific reports and maps
Basic proficiency in interpreting basic research data
Must be able to follow organisational processes and standards
Must be able to conduct basic geological/geotechnical site investigations and geo-scientific data management
Computer literacy and proficiency in data management, MS Office Suite, geotechnical data processing and basic modelling software, ArcGIS
