Job title: junior graphic designer

Location: Remote

Salary: R12,000 – 15,000 per month. Permanent. Full-Time. AA/Non-AA role.

To start January 2022

Our marketing agency operates out of Pretoria & Cape Town, and our core business focus is providing creative solutions for residential and retail property developments. Our brands vary from high-end luxury residential developments to grassroots mixed-used commercial developments. It is a fast-paced dynamic environment with multiple projects on the go at one time. Design work includes but is not limited to designing marketing collateral, advertisements and advertorials, outdoor media, sales kits, website, social media posts etc.

As junior designer you will be involved with design tasks from conception to completion. You will participate in producing preliminary versions of designs, engaging in design solutions and processing feedback to improve designs.

You should be a creative problem solver able to work independently and remotely on a full-time basis with occasional travel between Pretoria and Cape Town. And if Cape Town-based, there is an opportunity to work flexibly between office and home. You join a small but highly experienced team where the opportunity to grow and learn professionally is immense.

Role purpose: To support and work directly with the art director with the output of design elements across all our brands.

Requirements:

Graphic Design degree or similar qualification

Minimum of 2-3 years design experience

Excellent knowledge of the Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and WordPress. MS Word also advantageous.

Knowledge of design techniques, such as prototyping.

An excellent understanding of typography

Equally strong print and web design credentials.

A portfolio of creative work

A skills test

Responsibilities and work Output

Work within the brand CI and maintain the required brand elements while producing innovative, effective designs.

Place images and text within the correct format.

Check layout, images and logo usage from brief before handing over for loading or printing.

Set information correctly for reproduction and printing.

Design work for web and other screen media and ensure that work is correct for the medium.

Manipulate images when necessary.

Develop layouts, articles and documents based on the design brief.

Scan and edit photographs and other images as per design brief.

Proof check all articles and information.

Convert documents to the relevant format.

Develop and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with peers and stakeholders.
