Financial Manager (E1)

Job Purpose:
Responsible to manage the important financial functions, producing financial reports and developing strategies based on financial results analysis to guide senior management in making sound business improvement decisions in both the long and short term.

Skills and Qualifications:
•Advanced degree in accounting;
•Minimum five years appropriate experience in a managerial finance role, preferably in the mining industry or manufacturing environment; knowledge of Financial and Accounting software, preferably Syspro; practical knowledge of IFRS, Vat and Income Tax Act; `high level of competence in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, outlook, and word);
•superior mathematical skills;
•leadership skills and experience; employee management;
•understanding of data privacy standards;
•solid communication skills, both written and verbal; public speaking skills; deep understanding of business principles and practices;
•superior attention to detail; organisational skills; planning skills; research skills; analytical skills; critical thinking skills; problem-solving skills; computer skills; multi-tasking abilities; proven integrity and honesty.

Job Duties:
•Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the organisation including financial accounting, capital project accounting, payroll, purchasing, sales, banking, and other finance related transactions
•Oversee financial department employees, including accountants and other finance related support functions *Participate in performance evaluation of finance staff and conduct counselling sessions to identify skill development needs •Contract and manage outsourced services for tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary •Review all financial and operational data for accuracy, correctness and completeness including reconciling intercompany financial transactions •Co-ordinate subsidiary company external audit reviews and monitor findings and ensure resolutions thereof •Continually track the companys financial status and performance monitoring to identify areas for potentaial improvement *` Seek out methods for minimising financial risk to the company
•Ensure accurate calculation and distribution of salaries and other benefits to employees
•Oversee the overall corporate budgeting preparation, management, and monitoring processes
•Provide insightful information and expectations to senior management to aid in long-term and short-term decision making
•Prepare monthly and annual reporting timeously
•Present monthly operational review reports to management in formal monthly review meetings
•Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes
•Establish and maintain financial policies, processes and internal control procedures for the company and ensure adherence thereof
•Implement, monitor, manage and report on Mining Charter and BBB-EE compliance
•Understand and adhere to financial reporting standards, regulations, and legislation
•Monitor competitor activity and stay updated about latest industry trends
