DESCRIPTION

Leading the engineering team in the safe and profitable execution of the asset capacity assurance process through clearly defined strategies and objectives for the maintenance of the plant, equipment and on-site facilities.

BUSINESS PROCESSES: SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY:

Manage SHEQ compliance within the Department through effective use of the Toolbox.

Use the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, research, and report on the status of SHEQ.

CUSTOMERS: Key customers:

production, logistics and finance Jointly define annual service level agreements with site production personnel. Establish systems and controls that ensure site maintenance: with the specified performance and within the prescribed technical and legal requirements, that will allow a safe and environmentally acceptable operation, and meet the required nominal production capacity with minimum life cycle costs.

PEOPLE

Manage the Department by: Ensuring a conducive climate / culture Manage job stability by minimizing job turnover Ensure a work complement in line with the budget and achieve the HDSA and women’s objectives for the Section Manage performance against set goals and competencies and conduct professional discussions with identified talent Make sure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, tardiness, overtime, misconduct, etc.) Train and coach people to ensure better levels of performance. Conduct recruiting interviews Provide training to students and graduates.

BUSINESS PROCESSES

Document and review the overall engineering strategy annually to ensure it is aligned with the business plan. Guarantee strict compliance with the principles of management and maintenance work (percentage of planned work, compliance with the schedule, number of breakdowns, number of proactive requests) to obtain maximum plant availability at minimum maintenance cost per unit produced Manage engineering assets to ensure that they are producing at their designed capacity and that they are periodically renewed to their original state to ensure optimal service life. Ensure strict compliance with relevant engineering standards and specifications. Periodically audit the asset and the documentation to obtain the maximum standardization of spare parts and installations of new plants on site.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

B.Eng./BSc. (Ing.) Technikon Degree or Diploma Government certificate of competence.

At least 10 years of post-qualification experience

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

master’s degree MBA / MBL Professional registration with ECSA
