DESCRIPTION
CECD seeks to appoint an ECD trainer.

Their role will be to facilitate ECD teacher training for principals, teachers, and other ECD center staff; including coordinating training sessions and on-site mentoring and support visits, evaluating the assignments and tasks of professionals, working with the team to ensure that monitoring and evaluation activities are carried out as planned and report writing.

The purpose of the position is to ensure that CECD training programs are delivered effectively through professional facilitation, monitoring and evaluation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan and facilitate high-quality ECD teacher training and mentoring programs that meet the needs of ECD professionals in diverse settings (formal, informal, etc.).
Facilitate training sessions and on-site support visits for ECD practitioners.
Monitor and record the progress of practitioners.
Evaluate the assignments of professionals.
Contribute to the development, evaluation and improvement of courses, materials and related services for DIT training.
Interact with officials from local Provincial Social Development, Education and Health Departments and relevant ECD forums.
Contribute to the development / adaptation of program resources and tools.
Coordinate and participate in regular team control meetings with other team members.
Report to Operations Manager weekly and as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum NQF Level 5 Certificate in ECD
Registered advisor with SAQA / ETDP-SETA
Demonstrated experience as an ECD teacher or director
Demonstrated experience in the non-profit ECD / TVET environment as a trainer / facilitator
Demonstrated experience working with diverse stakeholder groups such as governments, NGOs, philanthropists, and private sector partners.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written skills in the English language are essential.
Proficiency in at least one other South African language.
Good writing skills, including report writing.
Organized, trustworthy and positive attitude.
Passion for working with the DIT workforce and training professionals.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
Good essential IT skills including MS Office Suite Word, Excel and PowerPoint, video conferencing.
Willingness to travel to South Africa.
Valid driver’s license
Travel within South Africa will be required. Applicants must be able to work legally in South Africa.
