Job Profile:
• Perform the functions of a Fire Fighter in terms of the Fire Brigade Services Act and the Local Government: Municipal Structures Act
• Perform operational functions under leadership of more senior ranks regarding the prevention of the outbreak or spreading of fires, the fighting or extinguishing of fires and the rescue of lives
• Perform testing, maintenance and cleaning functions on all emergency vehicles, equipment and fire station facilities
• Perform administrative duties related to testing and maintenance of fire station facilities, vehicles and equipment
• Compile and submit Incident Reports within prescribed timeframes
• Complete maintenance schedules, equipment checklists and vehicle servicing records
• Perform functions on a relief basis in the control room

Requirements:
• Grade 12 Certificate
• One-year relevant experience as a Fire Reservist or volunteer at a recognized Fire Service
• Valid Code C driver’s license
• Valid Professional Drivers Permit (PDP)
• Successful completion of a physical fitness assessment

Salary band: R193 332 – R250 968 per annum
