If you wish to start your own Filling Station⛽ brand you will require the following:

▪️A well located site with a lot of traffic (7000 cars and above)
▪️You’ll need to get a traffic engineer to assist you with a traffic count and access design for approval by the roads authority.
▪️You’ll need to get a town planner to rezone the site in order to allow the development of a filling station.
▪️You’ll need an environmentalist to assist you with an EIA approval.
▪️You’ll need to apply for your site and retail licenses from the department of energy.
▪️You’ll need a Geotechnical Engineer to assist you with a geotech study.
▪️You’ll need an architect to do a layout design and plan approval.
▪️You’ll need to have an agreement with an oil company for the use of their equipment and signage and for the supply of fuel to your site.

The above process usually takes about 3 – 4 years and cost about R500k.

Once you have all your approvals, you need to source funding to build the filling station (about R7 million to R10 million)
