Total Guaranteed Package: R 443 274 – R 593 329 (per annum inclusive of benefits)
Minimum Qualifications:
• Grade 12 and National Diploma: Safety / Environmental Management (NQF 6) or equivalent
Preferred Qualification:
• B Tech: Safety / Environmental Management (NQF 7) or equivalent
• Nebosh General International Certificate
Professional Registration:
• Registration with SACPCMP (South African Council for Project and Construction Management) as a Safety Officer or Candidate Safety Officer
Minimum Experience:
• Three years’ Safety Health and Environmental practice experience
• Sound knowledge of SHEQ management system (i.e. ISO 9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 systems, applicable codes of practice and relevant legislation)
• SAMTRAC training
• SHE Auditors Course
• SHE Risk Assessment Training
Key Outputs: Reporting to the SHEQ Specialist, the appointee will:
• To offer a Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) support service to Amatola Water Management and staff to ensure SHE legal and standards compliance. Assist with the operation of the planned maintenance system as required.
• Assist with identification of hazard and risk in order to facilitate effective risk reduction plans and actions
• Maintain Amatola Water’s Integrated System in order to manage the SHE risks in the business
• Conduct on-site inspections and monitoring
• Maintain emergency preparedness and testing
• Document control
• Carry out reasonable and lawful instructions as given by the line manager/ supervisor within the ambit of the position taking into consideration competencies and operational requirements
• Identify and implement a safe working practise for all hazardous tasks
• Conduct regular planned job observations in the various sections
• Participate in internal and external SHE system audits to test for compliance to legal and other requirements.
• Coordinate and participate in the employee PPE need analysis and maintain an organisational PPE issue register
• Attend construction project progress meetings and meet with construction site parties / stakeholders in order to provide required inputs / obtain required information.
• Develop and submit formal SHE File audit feedback for approval.
• Verify contractor SHE files compliance before work commences
Other Requirements:
• Computer literacy – MS Office
• Valid unendorsed drivers’ licence (regular site visits required)
• Ability to present certain SHE courses
• Ability to conduct SHE audits
• Report writing skills
