The South African National Space Agency (SANSA) invites suitable applicants for the Scholarship Program for 2021.

South Africa needs an increase in science and engineering graduates if we are to equip the country with the necessary and scarce skills to achieve the goals of the National Development Plan and ensure a successful and sustainable future for our citizens. SANSA offers graduate scholarships to contribute to the national goal of qualified graduate science and engineering graduates.

SCOPE OF OUR PROJECT

The mandate of our space science project includes, among others, the following:

Space Sciences (Hons, MSc, MPhil, PHD)

Solar physics
Space weather forecasting and verification aligned with navigation and radiation applications
Antarctic radar studies on climate change
Space Weather Studies with Multiple Instruments
Modeling of geomagnetically induced currents in electrical systems
Physics, structure and dynamics of the multiscale ionosphere
Ionospheric and radio propagation modeling
Wave theory and solutions in plasmas.

Information systems
Software and systems engineering
Data science
Field of your choice related to key SANSA objectives
Space, systems, antenna and RF engineering
Scholarship criteria

The main criteria used in the selection of successful applicants are financial need, academic potential, and career-oriented study programs.

CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING

An application will only be considered if it has been completed correctly and in its entirety.
The documents accompanying the application form must be uploaded and certified.
The supervisor must complete the testimony form and upload it to the application form.
For the academic year 2021, selected applicants will receive scholarships with the values ​​indicated below:

Hons – R90,000 (one year).
Teachers – R100,000 per year for two years.
PhD – R130,000 per year for three years.
Applicants cannot have a combination of scholarships that exceed these amounts. If an applicant has another scholarship of the landlord amount, SANSA will consider providing an additional amount to the student as long as the student meets the criteria mentioned above. Support for continuous years is not guaranteed and will depend on satisfactory progress during the previous year.
