DESCRIPTION
Bridging the gap between what you have learned in college and what you need practically to thrive in Samancor Chrome in the BIS Department.
The initial focus will be on basic skills training to develop the personal and professional skills necessary to establish one’s technical foundation in IT and EA. A dedicated mentor will help and guide you throughout the 12-month period to ensure that you provide effective and efficient IT support to end users.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement and support new IT systems
Deploy, control and support PC software (LAN applications) on the local area network.
Provide education for users to understand IT security risks.
Safeguard IT facilities (access control and environmental conditions)
Implement and support the new IT infrastructure (computers and networks)
Ensure compliance with group hardware / software standardization for Samancor Chrome
Maintain the availability and performance of the IT infrastructure
Provide a 24-hour support function to end users – Duties on hold
Liaise with service providers as needed
Monitor pending incidents on a regular basis
Address or escalate IT operational issues that have escalated from the outsourced service provider.
Maintain the Asset Control Register and related asset systems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
National Title / Diploma (NQF Level 6/7) in:
Computer’s science,
Computer and software engineering,
Information technology
o Computer science.
