Job description
A Group of Lodges are looking for a Sales and Marketing Manager to be based in Durban.

REQUIREMENTS:
Tertiary Qualification with Marketing as a major will be an advantage.
At least Five years’ experience as a marketing manager.
Proficient in MSWORD, EXCEL & POWERPOINT, Mailchimp or similar email marketing application, Salesforce or similar CRM software. WordPress or similar
Knowledge of Semper, Nightsbridge advantageous
Extensive knowledge of marketing strategies, channels, and branding.
Superb leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong time management and organizational abilities.
Strong Sales understanding
Understanding, experience in hospitality or travel marketing
Understanding of travel supply chain
Excellent presentation/training skills
Excellent command of English
iSizulu, Afrikaans, German & French advantageous
Must be KwaZulu Natal based

Strong leadership skills with a sense of ownership (accountability) and pride in work
Well groomed, good personal hygiene & presentable with a friendly personality
Strong work ethic, ability to work unsupervised, work flexible hours and extended hours.

Must be able to negotiate with travel trade at very senior level
Must be able to work after hours, weekends.

Job Description -includes, but not limited to the following duties:

Responsible for Reservations, Sales & Marketing department
Managing team of 4 people
Involves a lot of domestic & some international travel
Evaluating and optimizing marketing and pricing strategies.
Analysing market trends and preparing forecasts.
Generating new business leads.
Increasing brand awareness and market share.
Coordinating marketing strategies with the sales, financial, public relations, and production departments.
Developing and managing the marketing department’s budget.
Overseeing branding, advertising, and promotional campaigns for 5 products
Managing the marketing department’s staff.
Preparing and presenting quarterly and annual reports to senior management.
Promoting our brand at trade shows and major industry-related events.
Keeping informed of marketing strategies and trends.
Setting budgets & managing marketing spend
Revenue forecasting
Yield management
Barter negotiations with travel trade
Brochure placement with travel trade
Determine rates, specials, packages, discounts
Responsible for relationships with travel trade
Negotiating commissions & contracts with travel trade
Key accounts management – sales calls, training, commission negotiation, contracts
Attend travel workshops & trade shows
Organize participation in trade shows from start to finish
Responsible for reputation management
Handle guest complaints
Manage outsourced services including website designer, social media agency, graphic designer & pr/media agent, photographer & international representation companies
Company spokesperson in times of emergency
Plan media strategy
Vet media requests
Host media visits
Responsible for websites, social media
Social media engagement
Google Analytics
SEO
Collate and analyze statistics
Responsible for all OTA’s
Oversee group bookings
Some reservations after hours & weekend duty
