The Mandela Rhodes Foundation invites qualified individuals to apply for the Mandela Rhodes Scholarship Program each year. The MRF scholarship program provides financial support for graduate study as well as a leadership development program that aims to strengthen leadership skills in Africa. This scholarship is for postgraduate studies (honors and masters) in any field, with the exception of MBA. The scholarship must be taken to study at any recognized South African institution of higher education.
BURSARY COVERAGE
The enrollment and registration fees established by the institution.
Study Materials Grant
Accommodation, allowances and medical assistance allowance, all established by the MRF
Economy class travel allowance for international fellows (only the fare from the fellow’s home to their institution at the beginning and end of their degree) and
A personal allowance set by MRF
REQUIREMENTS
You must be a South African citizen or a citizen of all countries on the African continent
Graduate students at South African universities or colleges
Between the ages of 19 and 29 (and must be under 30 at the time of taking the scholarship)
Possession of a first degree or equivalent or must be in the process of completing one by January 2022
Must have above average academic records
You must intend to study for a graduate degree (honors or masters only).
You must study at a recognized institution of higher education in South Africa.
Attendance at all mandatory elements of the MRF leadership development program that may occur during the week or on weekends.
Must show potential to incorporate the fundamental principles of the MRF (education, leadership, entrepreneurship, reconciliation)
Must have SAQA verification of your qualifications if shortlisted, not required for initial scholarship application (see if your qualification is verified by SAQA at www.saqa.org.za
