DESCRIPTION
Fruit Exporter, successfully established in the northern suburbs, is looking to hire a logistics manager with the right experience.
REQUIREMENTS
Senior National Registration / Certificate.
Tertiary Degree in Logistics or similar.
Minimum 2 years of similar work experience exporting perishable cargo.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proactive, practical and capable of using initiative.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (advanced knowledge of MS Excel required).
Good math skills.
Ability to work with a high degree of precision and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and with constantly changing deadlines.
Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.
Knowledge of stock management systems, ie Prophet, Paltrack or similar, will be valued.
Willing to work overtime and weekends when needed.
Key performance areas (full job description to be discussed during an interview):
Check all orchard numbers, CBS status, and Phytclean verifications.
Prepare special market labels and send them to interested parties.
Receive pre-assigned references, prepare and send loading instructions to all interested parties.
Organize the transfer and manage the communication of pallets between the cold rooms and the local market as requested by sales.
Checking of stock validations in the software system and making daily corrections.
Maintain and update industry codes.
Ensure the correct configuration of the company’s FTP site and communicate it to all producers.
Attend customer and merchant pallet inquiries and advise / investigate discrepancies.
Allocate stock according to instructions received from sales.
Tracking of trucks assigned for loading and communication to interested parties.
Coordinate the loading schedule and boat reservations with sales.
