R: 10 536.30 Basic Salary per month
Primary Purpose: To provide upkeep and maintenance services in and around the Training & Development Centre at FFennell Depot.
Key Responsibilities: Perform basic Do It Yourself (DIY) Electrical work. Perform basic DIY Plumbing work. Paint Surfaces. Clean Gutters. Basic DIY Carpentry. Remove and Replace Locks on all types of doors. Replace Tiles. Mount First Aid Boxes. Maintain Garden Equipment. Replace broken Window Glass. Repair and Replace Window Mechanisms. Dispose of electrical waste in line with relevant OHS prescripts. Daily sweeping of grounds around the Training & Development Centre. Maintain the garden by removing weeds, cutting of grass, making of beds, pruning trees, trimming edges, watering the garden. Perform basic landscaping activities by planting of grass, trees, flowers and other plants. Empty rubbish in main Refuse Bin at FFennell Depot and cleaning of Dustbins. Pick papers and other debris around Training & Development Centre. Maintenance and Cleaning of the LAPA. Treat soil with fertiliser twice a year. Take responsibility and maintain all allocated tools, equipment consumables and materials. Keep and update inventory register of the tools of trade at all times. Maintain appropriate housekeeping in store rooms and filing rooms. Ensure that inventory in storerooms and filing room is not moved around without written permission from the Training & Development Manager. Ensure that health and safety measures are observed. Conduct risk assessment before performing any task. Ensure that all safety incidents, accidents and near misses are reported immediately to the OHS Representative and direct supervisor in the stipulated time frame.
The candidate for this post should possess the following attributes:
• Grade 9
• One year experience as a general worker in construction or electrical environment.
