Conservations Coordinator

We are looking for a Conservation Coordinator for the Reserve. This is a blend of a field guide and a nature conservationist working with our volunteer program.
- Minimum criteria required:
- FGASA Level 1/ NQF2 / nature conservation or environmental education qualification and/or
related tertiary education - At least 1 year experience dealing with big five game and volunteers
- Key Performance Areas of this position include:
- Lead and conduct conservation projects, maintenance (roads/fences/alien
vegetation/soil erosion) and fauna/flora monitoring with volunteers - Give lectures on various nature based topics
- Responsible for the maintenance and up keep of vehicles and equipment/assets
- Participate in local community projects
- Work in conjunction with the Wildlife Department
- Work independently and unsupervised for majority of time
- Competencies required:
- Code B or EB driver’s license and valid PDP
- SASETTA firearms competency
- Valid first aid certificate level 1
- DEAT and FGASA registered
- 4×4 driving preferable
- People orientated personality
- Good general knowledge of ecological management of game reserve
- QGIS mapping will be advantageous
