DESCRIPTION
The South African Nursery Association (SANA) invites suitable applicants for the scholarship program for 2021.

The South African Nursery Association invites all qualified candidates for the scholarships to be awarded to students who have an interest in pursuing a career in the horticultural-related area and who have successfully completed all modules of their first academic year of study . PhD, Masters and BTech students can also apply for the scholarship. Those applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Please note that the scholarship will not pay the remaining fees from the previous academic term. Registration fees, practical training, accommodation, travel, assignments and prescribed books are also not covered by the scholarship fund. All students will need to ensure that they are fully registered with the institution before the scholarship can be awarded. Only students who are currently enrolled in a tertiary institution can apply for SANA Student Membership. Your membership is valid for one year only, so if you want to remain a SANA student, please reapply for SANA student membership each academic year.

REQUIREMENTS

South African Citizen
Must have at least a 60% average per subject
Students of BSc, BSc (Hons) MSc, Ph.D Agricultural Degrees, National Diploma or Higher Diploma in Horticultural Sciences / Horticulture or Landscaping
Completed and approved 3 subjects of the first academic year and have an average of over 60% per subject.

A certified copy of your ID
A photograph of you (portrait, student card photo or selfie).
Academic record
Bank details of the institution
Motivational letter – minimum 150 words, you must answer the following questions (How do you see the development of your career in the green industry?, Have you done any community volunteer work?, If so, where and for how long and what was your experience about it.?, Have you been involved in the horticultural industry? If so, were you a volunteer or an employee and what were the main lessons learned through that experience? Have you visited a nursery? If so, where and what Would you say it was the most impressionable? What is the distance to the nearest nursery and what is it called?
