Our client, a national distributor of retail pumps and accessories, requires a candidate with more than 10 years recent industry experience. The ideal candidate must have strong management and trading skills.
Qualifications:
• Grade 12 / equivalent
Experience and Requirements:
• 10 or more years recent experience in a management role is essential
• A strong sales trading background as you will be required to increase branch sales
• Extensive amount of knowledge in the retail and wholesale pumps industry
• Knowledge of submersible, borehole, water, and surface pumps
• Knowledge and understanding of pump curves
• Familiar with customers in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, chemical, mining, building, wastewater, effluent transfer and energy and related industries
• Computer literate: advanced skills
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
• A stable work record and contactable reference
• A valid driver’s license
• Able to work retail hours
• Work under pressure
Responsibilities:
• Direct all operational aspects including distribution operations, customer service, human resources, administration, and sales
• Assess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities
• Develop forecasts, financial objectives, and business plans
• Meet goals and metrics
• Manage budget and allocate funds appropriately
• Bring out the best of branch’s personnel by providing training, coaching, development, and motivation
• Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities
• Share knowledge with other branches and headquarters on effective practices, competitive intelligence, business opportunities and needs
• Address customer and employee satisfaction issues promptly
• Adhere to high ethical standards, and comply with all regulations/applicable laws
