ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN

SALARY SCALE: R202 852.10 – R239 217.00 Per Annum

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Bachelor’s Degree /National Diploma in Library and Information Science
• 3 years’ experience in a library environment
• Computer Literacy
• Ability to communicate in isiZulu and English
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Coordinate and control the activities and operation of the library
• Monitor the execution of the procedural sequence or requirements to meet customer needs
• Attend to the acquisition and organization of information and provide users with information from various media
• Execute specific administrative sequence associated with the maintenance of assets, equipment and buildings.
• Performance any other task as directed by the Supervisor.

TRACTOR DRIVER

SALARY SCALE: R132 243.58-R156 105.84 Per Annum

APPLICABLE BENEFITS: Medical aid, Pension, 13th Cheque, Home Owner’s Allowance

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Grade 12 Certificate
• 2 years’ experience in driving a tractor.
• The ability to read, write and speak both Zulu and English,
• A valid Code C1 driver’s license,
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Receive instruction from the Immediate superior on work related activities,
• Inspect safety devices, controls, and lubricant levels on vehicles and report defects,
• Observe sequences of items and tools (refuse bags, pages and brooms),
• Check requirements prior to departure from site or location and correct deviations from safety procedures,
• Provide material to support personnel to facilitate the cleaning of vehicles, containers and tools,
• Drive to designated locations,
• Transport personnel and materials,
• Monitor refuse collection activities and communicate with personnel with regards to the cleaning of spillages,
• Drive to waste disposal sites and monitor the offloading of waste from the vehicle,
• Collect and deliver material and items to /from offices and specific locations,
• Check loading of items against documentation for correctness prior to departure,
• Keep the tractor up to standard.    

TLB OPERATOR

SALARY SCALE: R130 208.32 – R156 105.84 Per Annum

APPLICATION BENEFITS: Medical aid, pension, 13th cheque and homeowner’s allowance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Grade 10 or Adult Basic Education Training
• A TLB Operator Compliance Certificate.
• Medical certificate.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience
• Code 10 driver’s licence

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Drive and operate the TLB.
• Keep the TLB in good condition
• Undertake daily inspection of the TLB, safety control devices and lubricant levels, and report defects.
• Ensure the safety of persons and objects around the TLB while in operation.
• Perform any duties that may be delegated by the Supervisor. 

TOWN PLANNER TRAINEE

18 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT

STIPEND: R5 000.00 Per Month

No municipal benefits will apply (pension, medical aid, etc.) and applicants are required to make their own arrangements in respect thereof.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Grade 12 Certificate 
• Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Town Planning /Town and Regional Planning
• The ability to operate a personal computer, utilise word processing programs and Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• The ability to create, revise, edit and produce documents with particular regard to accuracy, quality and given instructions
• Time management skills
• Basic research skills 
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Provide assistance in terms of all submitted statutory planning permit applications.
• Compile documentation (under instructions and direction of the Planner and Junior Town Planner) to assist in the preparation of planning reports and other planning unit work.
• Maintain an adequate filing system for the planning and building inspectorate units.
• Provide clerical, scheduling and administration support to senior officials of the unit as required in consultation with the Supervisor.
• Provide administration assistance in the delivery of Council sustainable projects as required.
• Ensure delivery of the functions and tasks within the municipality as required.
• Exercise confidentiality in all processes and communication associated with the job.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
