National Accredited Technical Education Diploma (NATED) courses were created by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). The purpose of these courses is to provide students with both practical and theoretical knowledge. NATED Courses are registered on the National Qualifications Frameworks (NQF) and allow students to further their education.

ARE NATED COURSES ACCREDITED?

Courses are accredited once it’s been approved by a governing body like the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) or the NQF. Accreditation means the course is nationally recognised. For a course to get accreditation, it needs to meet certain requirements. NATED Courses are quality assured and nationally recognised. You may even choose to further your education once you’ve received your qualification.

WILL NATED COURSES INCREASE MY CHANCES OF GETTING HIRED?

A qualification does not guarantee you will get the job. That includes accredited courses and even qualifications like degrees. It only increases your opportunities and gives you more options to explore in the labour market. Accredited courses are recognised nationally and could increase your chances of being considered for a job, or being invited for an interview.

WHAT QUALIFICATION WILL I GET?

We offer N4-N6 qualifications. The N4-N6 are National Certificates you can get at colleges or technikons. An N4 is on the academic level called NQF 4. Therefore, the N4 Certificate is equivalent to a matric certificate.

After you’ve completed each level, you will receive a National Certificate. Once you’ve completed all levels along with your 18 months practical work, you then qualify for a National Diploma.

WHAT ARE THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR NATED COURSES ?

To enrol for our NATED Courses, you need to have a matric or equivalent qualification. Don’t have one? Not to worry. You can enrol in our Adult Matric or Matric Upgrade programmes. Or consider an alternative route by enrolling in one of our Study Without Matric Courses.

Please note, NATED Courses are English-medium courses. That means all study material and assessments are written in English. Students should be able to read, write as well as understand the language to be able to complete the course successfully.
