Registration
An honest, healthy and sober person.
Good interpersonal skills and supervisory experience.
Excellent communicator.
Driver’s license.
Computer proficient and able to compile reports.
Experience in NGO or similar work environment will be an asset.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the day-to-day activities of The Haven Night Shelter – Retreat.
The responsibility for the efficient and effective management of operations at the shelter rests with you as the Manager.
All other staff members employed at the shelter are responsible to you in the first instance.
As a manager, you will be accountable to your Operations Manager and the Shelter Committee at their monthly committee meetings for all activities at the Shelter to enable you to fulfill your Governance role.
You will be responsible for ensuring robust and efficient controls are in place to ensure accurate recording of all shelter income and expenses.
You will be responsible for budgeting, including fundraising, shelter fee collection, and cost control.
It will account for donations of goods in kind.
In addition to the daily management of the Refuge, you will also be responsible for:
Ensuring that each shelter client receives the necessary care from the social worker and ensuring that social work interventions are in line with Haven’s mission and vision.
The manager must ensure that the necessary resources are available for the social worker and client to execute an exit plan that leads to family reunification or reintegration into the community.
Develop in conjunction with staff, cluster administrators, and central office systems that will ensure the best possible level of care for shelter clients.
You must use your skills and Haven resources to improve food security and wellness service delivery to surrounding communities.
