JOB PURPOSE
My Client is looking for a Technical Assistant to join their technical team and help them achieve their goals. You will serve as a coordinator of technical field data, processing data into various formats and assisting with related administrative and technical tasks as a support to the technical team. The position is based in Stellenbosch.
Qualifications and experience required:
Post Matric agriscience qualification
Preferably 2 – 5 years’ experience in the agricultural industry such as consulting, research, nursery, farming, packhouse or import/export
Proven MS Office proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint etc.)
Proven data processing experience, as well as scientific writing experience
Experience co-ordinating many service providers for data capturing and processing
COMPETENCIES
Code 08 Drivers licence will be a prerequisite
Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
Interpersonal skills & friendly disposition

Ability to work under strict deadlines
Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
DUTIES
Updating trial site database
Capturing trial site evaluation data from different sources
Organising & minuting technical meetings
Updating cultivar spec sheets
Collecting data from the different global territories and completing technical, marketing & sales sections of breeder reports
Compilation and distribution of production guidelines and technical information to the industry
Assisting with the organisation of grower days etc.
Personal Assistant to all in the technical department
General administration
