Soltrain invites suitable applicants for the scholarship program for 2021.
SOLTRAIN’s main objective is to help target nations shift their energy supply systems from relying heavily on fossil fuels to a sustainable supply structure generally based on renewable energy. The Group helps to achieve this goal through the South African Solar Thermal Training and Demonstration Initiative (SOLTRAIN) Student Project Support Program by offering scholarships for postgraduate studies for the second half of the 2021 academic year.
Any postgraduate study that addresses solar thermal energy topics is eligible for funding, although submitted applications that address the following topics will have higher priority:
Analysis of the potential of solar thermal systems in the health sector
Analysis of measurement data from selected systems of the SOLTRAIN project
Any topic related to the use of solar thermal technologies for drying, heating or cooling in industrial applications.
Documentation and analysis of mass housing programs with mandatory installation of solar water heaters (this is only for South Africa and Namibia)
