ECSECC is seeking to employ a suitably qualified Research Fieldworker. The Research Fieldworker is to administer data collection processes and report-writing as guided by Project Officer: Stakeholder Engagement and Liaison.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree preferably with Economics or Industrial relations, Industrial Sociology or
Development Studies
Knowledge of Research processes
Knowledge of Research Instrument Administration
Knowledge of Research ethical standards
Proficiency in the use of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Power point
In order to fully develop into the role, the candidate must demonstrate competency in key behavioural skills:
o Communication – Communication and explains clearly, professionally and concisely, both verbally and in writing; keeps team members informed. Communication in isiXhosa and writing in English.
o Self-Management – can switch between different task according to business needs, coping with changing priorities and keeping others informed of possible issues. Has confidence to work independently but is also a team player. Proactive in decision-making.
o Working with Others – Maintains open and honest relationships with colleagues and agencies, building trust and confidence, responding proactively to requests and ensuring that others respond to own requests. Must be able to foster good relationships with agencies, whist still managing to negotiate discounts as appropriate.
o Travel- willing to travel throughout the Eastern Cape through the data collection process, in compliance with Covid-19 restrictions.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Practical experience in Research projects (minimum 3 months) Extent of Stakeholder Network
Interact with stakeholder through the data collection process
