The closing date for the scholarship application is April 8, 2021.

RATINGS

The Overberg District Municipality invites duly qualified students who completed their Grade 12 to apply for a scholarship specifically in the recommended fields of study below.

Municipal external scholarships are awarded to help develop students within the municipal area of ​​the Overberg district, and who belong to historically disadvantaged social groups and / or people with disabilities who are studying:
Towards your first degree in any field of study
Your first national diploma in any field of study.
Students who are eligible and have qualified for the scholarship will be assisted with financial needs while they study. Assistance includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Registration fees
Tuition fees
Exam fees
Cost of books and study materials.
Accommodation fees.
Recommended fields of study
Finance
Economic Sciences
Accounting
Supply chain management
Internal audit
Risk management
Infrastructure, p. Eg Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Architecture, Chemical Engineering

REQUIREMENTS

Interested applicants must meet the following criteria before applying for the scholarship. Failure to do this will result in the disqualification of your application.
Must be a resident of the Overberg District Municipality area
You must be 18 years old or under 35 years old.
You must be a South African citizen with valid South African ID.
Provide acceptance proof to a selected learning institution with your registration details.
You must meet the entry requirements of the selected institution.
Your monthly household income must be less than the GAP threshold.
Be registered to study at an accredited learning institution in South Africa.
Only those who are pursuing their first degree or national diploma will be considered for a scholarship.
Fees for selected applicants will be paid directly to academic institutions.
The scholarship will be applied to cover study expenses and, if possible and / or necessary, other essential needs.

HOW TO APPLY

Once you meet the above requirements, download the Overberg District Township Scholarship Application Form. Make sure to fill in all the required details, then attach the following documents.

Failure to include this may result in the request not being considered.
A certified copy of your identification.
Provide a certified copy of your grade 12 certificate.
If you are studying, please provide a complete tertiary transcript written on tertiary letterhead.
Provide a document showing registration or acceptance to the tertiary institution.
Provide a statement, invoice, or account details of the study fees itemized on tertiary letterhead.
Provide a document to show proof of residency, either a residential address or a municipal account.
Provide certified copies of the identity documents of your parents or guardians.
Provide a document that proves your household income.
Please provide a document that guarantees that you do not receive any scholarship or full aid from any institution.

The application forms completed with the certified documents mentioned above must be delivered to the municipal offices of the Overberg district by hand or they can be mailed to the Department of Human Resources, Private Bag X22, Bredasdorp, 7280
