WORK DESCRIPTION
There is a position in the tourism sector based in Franschhoek for an energetic operations manager to oversee business operations, including a fleet of vehicles, drivers, and general maintenance of company assets.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
A reliable and energetic operations manager who can fulfill the execution of a safe and reliable logistics operation while maintaining all legally required inspections regarding safety and maintenance with a small dedicated team. The candidate must maintain a disciplined but pleasant and open work environment.
Daily allocation of personnel and vehicles
Daily maintenance staff assignment
Ensure communication with the sales department about daily progress or any issues.
Ensure ongoing staff compliance with SHEQ, quality, and other operating policies and procedures responsible for responding to incidents, accidents, breakdowns, and investigating customer complaints.
Staff evaluation
Manage compliance with all maintenance and equipment programs and prompt repair of any wear, breakdowns and damages.
Manage all operating costs, including but not limited to shift structures, fuel usage, vehicle and building maintenance, vehicle repairs, as well as maintenance and repair supply.
Maintain a disciplined atmosphere of collegiality and collaboration among staff.
REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12
Bachelor or National Diploma in Transportation Management / Operations
SHEQ rating
Minimum of five years of experience in a senior operations position.
High level of computer skills, including Excel.
Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours.
Strong problem solving skills and the ability to think creatively
Strong HR skills
Technical knowledge of the vehicle is essential
