What is Actuarial Science and What does an Actuary actually do?
An actuary is a financial problem solver and their work allows companies and individuals to safeguard their financial future.
Typical areas of work include:
Designing insurance and investment products
Consulting to pension funds to provide investment advice and forecast possible investment return
Calculate companies’ profit and loss
Project future profits and monitoring companies’ performances.
REQUIREMENTS
An A in Mathematics (not Maths literacy) and Bs for all your other subjects
Must study at either the University of Cape Town, the University of Stellenbosch, the University of the Witwatersrand or the University of Pretoria
