The National Youth Development Agency through the National Youth Service Programme in partnership with Industries Education and Training Institute is looking for 230 youth who will participate to NYS skills development programme

The project is funded by the MQA with the aim of training young ex-miners, retrenched miners or miners who are about to be retrenched, the purpose of which is to provide candidates with practical skill enabling them to find work in his/her choice of trade or to become self-employed.

The duration of the skills programme is 10 weeks of which 4 weeks will be spent doing Institutional training (theory and practical) and thereafter, the learners will be placed at a workplace for a further 6 weeks practicing his/her newly required skill on-the job. The learner will be paid an amount of R1 500.00 per month (or a total of R3 400.00) for the duration of the programme.

REQUIREMENTS
South African Youth between the age of 18-35 years old residing in the Western Cape Province.
The minimum qualification required for this training is grade 9, and for electrical and plumbing with mathematics and science.
Young ex-miners, retrenched miners or miners who are about to be retrenched.
Grade 9 report. NB: The applicants must indicate one trade of their choice.
