Our Kraaifontein based client is a leading supermarket retailer looking to hire a fruit and vegetable merchant to join their team. Therefore, it is essential that potential applicants are willing to work retail hours.
The primary purpose of the job is to provide exceptional customer service by maximizing sales opportunities and minimizing risk and waste. The successful candidate would perform all tasks and follow all procedures effectively and accurately with a solid knowledge of the produce department. The candidate would be reliable, hardworking, and a team player.
Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 Unpack the goods from the storage area
 Ensure that the proper level of stock is maintained and that merchandise is properly displayed in the produce department.
 Removes damaged and expired products from the shelves and makes sure there are fresh products on the shelves.
 Check prices and make sure products are priced right
 Assist with product inventory when needed
 Comply with all hygiene standards within the department.
 Truck unloading
Minimum requirements:
 Grade 12
 Well groomed and tidy
 In physical form
 Experience with fresh products mandatory
 Must reside in Kraaifontein and surrounding areas
 One year experience in a similar position
