DESCRIPTION
Intel’s Commerce and Government Markets team has a 1-year vacancy for a government and policy intern to support the team in policy development and government relations in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The intern will be based in Johannesburg and will be responsible for monitoring legislative developments and representing the company on regulatory, legislative and regulatory matters in key African countries, relevant African institutions, external partners, trade associations and non-governmental organizations.

The position reports to the Director of Policy and Government for Africa and receives direction from other Directors of Policy as necessary.

RATINGS

University degree preferably in:

Law,
Public politics,
Economic Sciences
Political Sciences
Competencies:

Knowledge of the policies that impact the technology sector.
Specific knowledge of privacy and security policies or digital business policies is highly desirable.
Strong analytical oral and written communication skills and the ability to defend complex technical and political issues.
Knowledge or experience of working with African institutions, policies, legislative processes, and government relations in African countries.
Flexible and comfortable working in a cross-functional capacity within a fast-paced international environment
Advanced written and spoken English is essential and an additional language, for example French, is a bonus.
