Qualifications / Requirements:
• National Diploma in HR
• Certified in the fields of Skills Development Facilitation, IR Management, Employment Equity etc.
• Minimum of 10 years + in Human Resources within a full HR functional area (i.e., Recruitment, Training and Development, Performance Management, Industrial Relations, etc)
• Experience of managing a small HR team including payroll
• Previous experience of integration support
• Time dealing with Shop Stewards and Regional Office Union Level
• Time spent in the Road Freight and Logistic Industry Bargaining Council environment or similar
• Experience project managing and delivering internal projects
• Knowledge and skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications (Word / Excel / PowerPoint) Intermediate on Projects
  • Labour related Legislation and Codes of Good Practice, LRA, BCEA, RFLIBC, EEA, UIF, etc
    • Energetic, independent, self-motivated and must be operationally a hands-on person
    • Possess excellent initiative, strong sense of responsibility and good judgement
    • Good team player with a positive mindset
    • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and able to work with individuals at all levels
    • Understanding of working across cultures
    • Ability to work under pressure and be able to deliver accurate work in a tight time-frame
    • Ability to multitask and handle a diverse workload independently
    • Time and priority management skills
    • Ability to exercise discretion and capacity to handle private and confidential issues
    • Good, caring and understanding excellent manager who is willing to share and impart with knowledge
    • Honest, loyal, reliable and trustworthy. ‘Can-do’ attitude

Key Performance Areas:
• Work with Managing Director to identify and resolve any operational matters
• Work closely with Managing Director to eventually fold in and streamline operations across the division
• Always ensure each project has the operational business’s best interests at heart at all times
• Support and work on succession planning aspects as outlined in the HR roadmap
• Ensure smooth running of the offices, employee files and all associated documentation is kept up to date
• Ensure that all HR related policies and procedures are consistently applied throughout the company
• Facilitate and manage all procedures relating to employee onboarding, induction, and termination in conjunction with Group HR’s philosophy
• Co-ordinate annual performance reviews across the board
• Support audit process as and when required
• Ensure the division remains legally compliant at all times
• Manage employee relations issues – provide IR support as and when required
• Manage leave across the division
• Support payroll team by collating information in a timely manner
• Co-ordinate training efforts across the division
• Work with systems in use and provide reporting as and when required
• Policy work as and when needed
• HR Operations:

  • Establishing an Employment Equity and Training Steering Committee, implement, facilitate, and chair quarterly meetings and keeping updated records to ensure full compliance on audit
  • Conduct an annual skills gap analysis for the identification of effective training and development needs which are to be reported as a Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report through the appropriate SETA online portal
  • In conjunction with Group HR, establish and implement an Employment Equity Plan, monitoring of progress to plan and the submission of annual Employment Equity reports
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions
  • Implementation, management and delivery of key projects identified within the company’s HR roadmap
    • Integration support:
  • Support any ongoing integration works as set by the integration team, based on a brief from the Managing Director
  • Ensure businesses are integrated to ensure an optimal operating structure for the business at all times
    • Management duties:
  • Manage HR team
  • Support them in their duties and encourage them to grow and develop as professionals
  • Always look to advise and teach them with a view to them improving their skill set and experience
    • Industrial relations:
  • Support Managing Director – in dealing with all employee relations and IR issues
  • Ensuring the Company’s Code of Conduct is consistently applied by providing guidance, facilitating, and managing the ER issues
