Vacancy: Human Resource Officer
The Sabi Sand Wildtuin (SSW) is now recruiting for the position of Human Resource Officer.
The SSW is South Africa’s oldest and best-known private game reserve. The SSW is a very sought-after tourist destination with unsurpassed
Big 5 game viewing and various lodges. The reserve has pioneered a host of wildlife and conservation management practices.

Reporting to: Head of Finance
Employment type: Fixed-term (3-month contract) with the possibility of permanent placement thereafter.
Location: Sabi Sand Wildtuin, Headquarters (Candidate will be required to reside and work on the reserve)

Main Function
Responsible for HR support to the SSW and Sabi Sand Pfunanani Trust (SSPT)
Role responsibilities
ï‚· Leading recruitment (Incl. job description, interviews, follow up, references and offer letters) across SSW and SSPT projects
ï‚· Leading all Employment Equity Committee matters
ï‚· Statutory submissions- Employment Equity and Cathseta
ï‚· Leading employee disciplinary matters (Warnings, Hearings & CCMA)
ï‚· New employee induction (incl. employee file and records)
ï‚· Employee development and growth
ï‚· Coordination of staff wellness programmes, performance management, performance appraisals and succession planning
ï‚· Assistance with improving policies and procedures
 Co-ordinate staff and support departments’ operational activities
ï‚· Training, coordination, mentorship and development for all employees
ï‚· HR-related administration and reporting
Qualifications and Experience:
 3 Years’ experience in a similar role
ï‚· Relevant human resources degree preferred
ï‚· Experience in staff recruitment will be advantageous
ï‚· Excellent English and writing skills

 PC Literacy and proficient in MS Office – must have advanced Word, Outlook and PowerPoint skills
ï‚· Must have experience of working in a high-level professional environment
ï‚· Experience in community development (Will be advantageous)
ï‚· Highly organized and detail orientated
ï‚· Ability to always maintain confidentiality
ï‚· POPIA Compliance Certificate (Will be advantageous)

ï‚· Excellent communication and people skills are essential for this role
ï‚· Strong organizational and time management skills
ï‚· Professional, diplomatic and ethical
ï‚· Able to manage complexity and adapt to changing conditions

ï‚· Strong coordination skills
ï‚· Self-motivated
