ROLE SUMMARY
Busamed Gateway Private Hospital (KZN) is looking for an ENA to provide nursing services under the direct
and indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse within their scope of practice. The objective of this
position is to render and promote quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and
policies and to assist the Registered and Enrolled Nurse. The main task of the Enrolled Nursing
Assistant is to help “maintain the hygiene and comfort of the patient”.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with duties as and when instructed by shift leader or the unit manager thus ensuring
you promote a harmonious team effort within the department.
Provide comprehensive quality nursing care to patients, based on individualised patient
needs, using scientific principles and practicing standard precautions and all principles of
infection control.
Maintain effective relationships with all internal and external customers, and ensure all actions
promote customer service excellence.
Render and promote quality patient care in accordance with best practice standards and
hospital policies in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of all assigned
patients.
Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary
Compliance with the South African Nursing Council code for an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary and
all applicable health care legislation
WORK EXPERIENCE
Working experience in private healthcare or healthcare funding industry will be advantageous.
Relevant experience in the nursing discipline would be an advantage
Capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited
bodies and appropriate health legislation
Computer Literacy essential.
Fluent communication in English essential.
