ELECTORAL STAFF (VOTING & COUNTING OFFICERS) AT IEC

REQUIREMENTS
Must be a SA citizen.
Must be a registered voter.
In the last 5 years, must not have held political office or been a candidate in an election or have been politically active for a political party or campaign for a political party (appearing on the candidate list of any political party for the local government elections will result in immediate termination of appointment).
In the last 5 years, must not have been elected in an organisation that has political affiliations or aim.
Must not have convicted of of serious criminal offense(s).
As far as possibly must have some form of training or further education.
Must have access to a Mobile Telephone.
Must be proficient in the relevant local languages of the Municipality.
Must have a Valid Bank Account.

The above positions are on a short term contract, requiring a person to work on Voting Day.You are required to attend at least one day’s training. The Electoral Commission will only correspond with successful candidates. The Electoral Commission is under no obligation to fill the positions after advertising it. Although advertised, it may be withdrawn or re-advertised. Applicants for all of the above positions should not have a high party political profile. Applications must in all cases be accompanied by recent, updated comprehensive curriculum vitae as well as certified copies of qualifications, recent bank statement and identity document. Please note that recommended candidates will undergo PLC verification.
