Our client in the hospitality industry based in Paterson has a position available for a Conservation Co-Ordinator.
Eastern Cape
Requirements:
FGASA Level 1/ NQF2 / nature conservation or environmental education qualification and/or
related tertiary education.
At least 1 year experience dealing with big five game and volunteers.
Code B or EB driver’s license and valid PDP.
SASETTA firearms competency.
Valid first aid certificate level 1.
DEAT and FGASA registered.
4×4 driving preferable.
People orientated personality.
Good general knowledge of ecological management of a game reserve.
QGIS mapping will be advantageous.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and conduct conservation projects, maintenance (roads/fences/alien vegetation/soil erosion) and fauna/flora monitoring with volunteers.
Give lectures on various nature based topics.
Responsible for the maintenance and up keep of vehicles and equipment/assets.
Participate in local community projects.
Work in conjunction with the Wildlife Department.
Work independently and unsupervised for majority of time.
