The City of Tshwane would like to invite suitably qualified accounting graduates to join its Chartered Accountant Training Program (CATP).

Apprentices will enter into employment and training contracts.

The agreements ensure commitment to the program that requires, among others, full participation in educational and work assignments, and adherence to City of Tshwane policies and procedures.

This program aims to attract the following candidates:

African males and females
Indian men and women
Colored males and females
White males and females
People with disabilities

QUALIFICATION CRITERIA

Must have completed a Certificate in Accounting Theory (CTA) or be in the last year of completing a CTA.
You must be a South African citizen.
Must not have a criminal record and / or ITC approved.

NB. Only candidates in possession of a CTA will be considered for placement after the interview process.
Primary functions to perform

The Chartered Accountant Apprentice is expected to perform tasks relevant to obtaining the competencies necessary to qualify as a Chartered Accountant at the end of the three-year training period.

The student will gain exposure to the following Tshwane City divisions during the training period:

Financial reports and assets

Budget office

Operational and Transversal Compliance and Continuous Audit

Revenue management

Treasury

Procurement and demand management

Submit a completed CATP application form with your Curriculum Vitae and certified copies of your identity document, relevant degrees, complete transcript and CTA certificate or proof that you registered to write the CTA final exams in 2021.
