Qualified Child and Youth Care Worker

REQUIREMENTS
Qualified as a Child and Youth Care Worker
Registered with SACSSP
Matric Certificate
Be in possession of a Driver’s license and fully capable of driving independently be tested)
Minimum two years’ experience as a child and youth care worker
Ability to work independently and in a team
Ability to talk, understand and write English and Sotho fluently Computer skills, particularly in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, e-mail, internet and electronic communication An enthusiasm for work in this field
A belief in the capacity of children and adults to heal and develop
Knowledge of and skills in providing basic counselling
Appropriate for work with children who have experienced trauma, abuse and with children whose behavior is abusive/sexually inappropriate
An ability to communicate with children and adults
Ability to write good reports in English
Working knowledge of Law and Policy as it applies to children, child protection and families
Ability to work and effectively communicate with different sectors and disciplines • Have to be able to live on the premises and work on a rotation/shift system
Be able to cook
Be responsible and trustworthy
DUTIES
General caretaking of children between the ages of 7-18
Transporting children to school/clinic etc
Attending school meetings
Assist children with school work where necessary/applicable
Cooking
Administration
