ADT apprenticeships are open to application by all interested candidates. All interested applicants should submit their applications using the procedures below.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

ADT (which stands for “American District Telegraph” Company) was formed in 1874, through a merger between numerous smaller telegraph distribution companies.
Today ADT provides security services to thousands of residential and commercial customers in South Africa and millions more around the world.

ADT South Africa is at the forefront of security in the country; since entering the South African market in 2001, they have grown dramatically.

ABOUT LEARNING

The ADT technical apprenticeship program is a full-time course, running over a 2-year period.

The program focuses on the installation, management and maintenance of alarm systems. Students who successfully complete the apprenticeship will receive a SASSETA accreditation, which together with ADT, will fund the program.

The apprenticeship program will be conducted at South African engineering universities by qualified faculty, and practical courses will be held at ADT’s offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Pretoria, Port Elizabeth and KwaZulu-Natal.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

South African Citizen
Study for an engineering degree at an engineering school.
